Poolside Retreat

Artistic Gardenscapes designed and built the swimming pool of this home near White Rock Lake with a calm garden space that would be just at home in Japan as it would be here in Dallas. A limestone “waterfall” was added as a nod to the principle that nature is the ideal to be strived for. Meanwhile, a comfortable weathered bench sits nearby to take in the sound of the rushing water, the scent of the Julia Child roses in the background, and the vivid colors of the cannas when they are in bloom. A mass of horsetails and a stone Buddha make another restful spot in the garden. And finally, the concept of “enclosure” is a very important one in creating a Japanese garden, so Artistic Gardenscapes created a horizontal fence with clean lines that has the added benefit of increased air circulation in our hot Dallas summers.
